Capnography some alarming facts about colour change C02 devices!
21/08/2009

There are industry reports about accuracy and reliability of colour change (colorimetric) devices showing how they do not always perform as one would expect. When you are in such a 'critical' measurement environment, when perhaps 'every breath counts' it is a false economy to rely on a low cost disposable measurement device which does not have the same accuracy or performance as the EMMA Portable Emergency Capnometer as an example, nor do these colour change devices have a dynamic reading, nor do they measure respiratory rate.

In the field of emergency medicine and when the patient's life is of utmost importance your emergency support teams need to be able to rely on a truly portable but reliable and above all else accurate Capnometer and one which measures 'breath by breath' both end tidal C02 and respiratory rate; as both these measurements are critical to determine the outcome of patient treatment and recovery during ventilation, CPR and other major cardiac and respiratory emergencies. The EMMA Portable Emergency Capnometer does both, it provides the only real alternative for safe and reliable end tidal C02 monitoring for either intubated or non-intubated patient transportation emergencies.

If you compare the EMMA Portable Emergency Capnometer’s to conventional sidestream monitors, these are much bulkier and have issues of small tubing, long warm up times, calibration and they are much more expensive.

So its no wonder why the EMMA Portable Emergency Capnometer designed for adult/paediatric or infant use with its > mainstream infrared technology > rapid ‘breath by breath’ measurement of both End tidal C02 and Respiratory Rate > unique disposable airway adapters > no warm time > no tubing to snag or block > no complex calibration > small size & weight 53 grams > long battery life (14 hours continuous) > much lower cost >  is the number one choice for emergency medical teams.

EMMA Portable Emergency Capnometer’s providing un-paralleled mobility and performance.
