Sudden cardiac arrest - every second counts
Sudden cardiac arrests are caused by life threatening fibrillation, and it can happen anytime and anywhere: at work or on-board. Initial care for the patient includes cardio pulmonary resuscitation [CPR], but on its own, its not enough to stop fibrillation. It can only be halted through early defibrillation, that is, treatment using a controlled impulse that is delivered automatically or manually by a professional defibrillator.
There is no way of preventing the onset of a sudden cardiac arrest. But the consequences can be catastrophic. The sufferer onle has a few precious minutes left for a chance of survival. Using an automatic external defibrillator [AED] greatly increases the chances of surviving life threatening fibrillation.
We understand the regulatory requirements relating to industry sectors (Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, Transport & Works Act 1992, The Railway & Safety Standards Board Group Standard GE/RT 8070, Railways and Transport Safety Act 2003, Road Traffic Act 1988, Corporate Manslaughter Act 2008, Misuse of Drugs Act 1971).
